Do You Need to Make a Report?
The Midland Police Department Telephone Response Unit provides 24-hour service to the public and serves as the Department’s information center. Call 432-685-7108 to speak with an MPD Telephone Response Unit staff member.

The type of reports that may be taken over the telephone are:
  •     Lost Property
  •     Theft
  •     Criminal Mischief
  •     Auto Burglary
  •     Runaway
  •     Telephone Harassment
  •     Missing Person
  •     Violation of Protective Order
There are other types of reports that may be taken in person at the front desk at the Midland Police Department. These types of reports require the victim to provide documentation at the time the crime is reported and therefore must be done in person.  

They are:
  •     Forgery
  •     ID Theft
  •     Assault
  •     Found Property
  •     Interference with Child Custody
  •     Credit/Debit Card Abuse

Victims of Identity Theft
Victims of Identity Theft need to file a complaint with the FTC at www.ftc.gov/complaint or 1-877-438-4338. The completed complaint is called an FTC Affidavit. The victim will need to take the Affidavit along with any other documents regarding the Identity Theft to their local police department, or to the police department where the crime occurred, and file a police report.
