The City of Midland will launch a new website on Thursday, Oct. 17.
The website will have enhanced functionality and interactivity as well as a cleaner, easier layout to navigate.
Residents will still be able to notify city officials of problems as well as provide suggestions through the website’s “Report a Concern” module. By signing in, residents can follow existing requests and receive messages from city officials about their requests.
A robust facilities module offers pictures and amenities for parks and other city facilities around Midland, as well as a map that allows Midlanders to find the parks closest to their homes.
Citizens will also still be able to sign up for the city’s new emergency alert system through the “My Alerts” tab. Users can elect how they want to be contacted in case of an emergency. The system allows officials to pinpoint areas that need to be notified of an emergency or send city-wide alerts.
Website visitors can further personalize their experience through the MyDashboard bar at the top of the screen. Users may create a login for the site or use their Facebook profile, then choose the modules, features and keywords that they’d like to see most often, including calendars, news items and more. Citizens can also save favorite pages within MyDashboard, making important information even easier to find.
