MIDLAND FIREFIGHTERS TAKE CARE OF APARTMENT BLAZE IN NE MIDLAND
(February 19, 2024)
MIDLAND, TEXAS -- On Monday, February 19, 2024, at approximately 12:33 a.m. the Midland Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the 1200 block E. Wadley Avenue.
Midland Fire Department and Midland Police Department officials worked to evacuate residents from the apartment complex as firefighters worked 3 ½ hours to extinguish the blaze. All totaled six engines responded to the fire.
One person was injured, eight apartment units were impacted, and 22 residents were displaced from the blaze, which officials said started with an individual cooking.
The American Red Cross assisted in finding housing for displaced residents, and Midland Fire Department officials stated the investigation is ongoing.
