MPD RESPONDS TO SHOOTING IN WEST MIDLAND

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- At approximately 10:49 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, Midland Police Department officers were at Midland Memorial Hospital when the first of two gunshot victims arrived.
Midland police reported that an 18-year-old male had been shot multiple times, reportedly across Loop 250 from Scharbauer Sports Complex in west Midland.
MPD also reported that a 15-year-old male arrived at MMH a short time later wtth a gunshot wound to his foot. Both victims provided details of the location of the crime scene, which was located by officers. The incident is being described as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
At this time, this is an ongoing investigation and no arrests have been made.
