FIVE MIDLANDERS FILE FOR VACANT COUNCIL SEAT

(MARCH 4, 2024)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Five Midland residents have filed to run for the vacant at-large seat on the Midland City Council.

Monday was the last day a candidate could file for the May 4, 2024, special election, and the candidate field will include Cheston Blank, John Burkholder, Eric Davidson, James R. “Bull” Henry and Ben Roberts. An at-large seat requires a candidate run city-wide.

The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of the at-large term, which ends in January 2025. Should that person seek to serve as an-large council representative for another term, he would be required to run for office again in November.

The filing period ran from Feb. 13, 2024, to March 4, 2024.
