MPD: ASSAULT TAKES PLACE IN MACARENA'S PARKING LOT

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- At 5:46 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2024, Midland Police responded to a disturbance with weapons that took place in the Macarena’s parking lot, 4411 W. Illinois Ave.
When police arrived, two males were contacted and found to be involved in a physical altercation.
“The victim reported being in the passenger seat of a vehicle when the suspect opened the door and began to assault him,” MPD reported. “The victim claimed to have acted in self-defense during the assault, striking the suspect with a nearby knife. Both males were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests had taken place as of Monday, and Midland Police stated the investigation is ongoing.
