MIDLAND AGAIN POSTS LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN TEXAS

(April 23, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The Texas Workforce Commission reported last week that the Midland metropolitan statistical area posted the lowest unemployment rate in the state during the month of March.

The Commission showed the Midland MSA had jobless rate of 2.9%, which was higher than March 2024 (2.7%). The TWC also reported Midland was the lone MSA with a rate below 3.0%. Amarillo and San Angelo tied for second with unemployment rates of 3.1%.

The state average was 4.0% during the month of March, according to the Commission.
