APPLICATION PERIOD FOR OUTSIDE AGENCY FUNDING CONTINUES THROUGH MARCH 20

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Agencies that wish to seek funding from the City of Midland's budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year may apply now through March 20, 2026.

Each year, the City of Midland budgets funds for promotion of tourism and the hotel industry, promotion of city growth and development, and other activities that are an extension of city services. More than twenty agencies are currently receiving funding through this process. Past recipients of such funds include the Arts Council of Midland, VisitMidland, Midland College's Business and Economic Development Center, Teen Court and Permian Basin Community Centers of Midland.

Current applications are for funding in the budget year beginning October 1, 2026. This funding will only be for events that fall between October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027, and have proof of at least three years of hotel room nights. This is not for new events. Hotel/Motel and city development-related funding requests are reviewed by a citizen advisory board.
