The Midland Fire Department's Hazmat crew responded to a call at approximately 8 p.m. Monday in the 3000 block of West Front Street, where debris in the roadway was found to contain what initially appears to be a corrosive powder substance. Units have blocked the roadway and officials are asking that the public avoid Front Street between Bankhead Highway and K Street.
