The City of Midland Engineering Services Department has the following projects under construction. Road closures and traffic alerts for each project are listed below:
Lamesa Road Pavement Reconstruction:
The Contractor working for the City of Midland will be starting the milling and base work phase of the project on the West side of Lamesa Road between Dormard Avenue and Walnut Avenue in preparation of the Lamesa Road pavement reconstruction. Lamesa Road will be narrowed down to a single lane in each direction on the East side. All properties will remain accessible across the construction zone.
Lamesa Road Pedestrian Access Improvement:
The Contractor working for the City of Midland is in the final stages of the sidewalk improvement project. Single lane interruptions will be used along Lamesa Road to complete the project. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.
COMPASS: City-Wide Paving:
The Contractor working for the City of Midland is preparing Colorado Street for asphalt placement. Stokes Avenue is closed to thru traffic between Rankin Highway and Colorado Street. Belmont Street and Colorado Street are closed between Gist Avenue and Wolcott Avenue.
Water/Wastewater/Fire Hydrant Tap Project:
The Contractor working for the City of Midland will be installing water and sewer services to a property on Wadley Avenue, between Midland Drive and Mark Lane. Temporary lane closures will be used along Wadley Avenue to complete the project. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible. Motorists are advised to avoid this work zone if possible.
Mark Lane and LaSalle Circle Drainage Improvement Project:
The City of Midland Transportation Division will begin a drainage improvement project at Mark Lane and LaSalle Circle on Monday May 5, 2014. The project will include the installation of a 5’ wide concrete valley gutter. During the project, LaSalle Circle will be closed to through traffic. All properties will remain accessible during the project.
