MPD: POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FROM SHOOTING IN NE MIDLAND

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- At approximately 5:43 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Midland Police responded to a shooting in the 6700 block of Rio Bravo.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a male kneeling in the roadway holding a firearm, while a deceased male lay nearby,” MPD reported. “While on the scene detectives reviewed camera footage which depicted the suspect shooting at a residence and also shooting the victim in the roadway.”
The suspect – 34-year-old Samuel Omamogho -- was apprehended on the scene and later charged with murder. The victim is 41-year-old John Richard of Midland.
The investigation is still ongoing.
