43-YEAR-OLD DIES AFTER VEHICLE-PEDESTRIAN COLLISION

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- A 43-year-old Midland man died Friday, July 19, 2024, after a vehicle-pedestrian collision earlier in the day at the intersection of Dallas Street and Florida Avenue.
Midland Police reported that a 1994 Chevrolet 1500 was traveling eastbound around 5 p.m. in the 300 block of East Florida when “a vehicle pulled out in front of (the Chevrolet 1500) in the same lane of travel” forcing the 19-year-old driver of the Chevrolet to make “an evasive maneuver into the outside lane to avoid collision.”
“There were two pedestrians crossing at the intersection of Dallas and Florida (southbound),” an MPD report indicated. “One of the pedestrians was in the outside lane of travel the other in the inside lane of travel. (The Chevrolet 1500) after taking evasive action into the outside lane observed the first pedestrian and performed another evasive maneuver back into the inside lane striking the second pedestrian.”
Midland Police stated that the pedestrian was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital by ambulance with serious bodily injury and later succumbed to the injuries, police reported.
The pedestrian was identified as Danny Glen Howl.
