CITY, COUNTY TO TEST INTEGRATED PUBLIC ALERT WARNING SYSTEM ON APRIL 30

(April 29, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Midland County and the City of Midland will conduct testing Wednesday (April 30, 2025) of its Integrated Public Alert Warning System (IPAWS).

IPAWS testing will reach all residents within the City of Midland and Midland County through emergency alerts on cell phones. The alert will clearly state that it is a test, so there is no need for alarm.

Testing will help verify that alert systems can effectively disseminate critical information to residents, businesses and visitors during emergencies. It also should help identify technical issues and improve our communication strategies for real-world situations.
