HOGAN PARK PUBLIC MEETING SHOWS OFF CHANGES ON AND OFF THE COURSE

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Midlanders got a sneak peek at the future of golf at Hogan Park during a public meeting Tuesday at the clubhouse.
Included was an unveiling of the news branding, which included new logos for “The Courses at Hogan Park.”
The City of Midland operates two 18-hole golf courses (the Roadrunner Course and Quail Course) at the 3600 N. Fairgrounds Road location. The golf complex is among the largest municipal golf complexes in West Texas.
The presentation Tuesday included a look at the preliminary master plan by Trey Kemp of Kemp Golf Course Design.
“The core focus of Hogan Park is to deliver a top - quality golf experience that welcomes everyone — making the game accessible, fun, and educational for beginners, families, and juniors, while offering a fun and challenging experience for avid golfer,” the master plan states.
Master plan proposed phasing will include the Quail Golf Course renovation (Phase 1), the Roadrunner Golf Course renovation and practice holes (Phase 2) and the clubhouse, maintenance facility, parking, practice areas and old clubhouse.
Proposed Phase 1 Highlights and changes
Highlights to the Quail Course phase include:
- Renovated all greens, surrounds, and bunkers
- New tees
- Regrass fairways
- New putting green next to the tee on 1
- New Irrigation System
- New RO System for Irrigation
- New cart barn (set to start be later this year)
Major changes include the 10th holes being converted to a par-4 and the re-introduction of the old pond on hole No. 12.
Proposed Phase 2 highlights
Highlights to the Roadrunner Course and practice holes phase include:
- Reroute 11 holes while keeping seven holes in their current location
- New greens, tees, bunkers, fairways
- Five new practice holes ( 2 par 3’s, 2 par 4’s, 1 par 5)
- New putting green next to the 1st practice hole tee
- New Irrigation System that will tie into the RO System that was installed in Phase 1
Proposed Phase 3 highlights and changes
Highlights to the clubhouse, maintenance facility, parking and practice areas include:
- Demolish the existing clubhouse, maintenance facility, and cart barn
- New clubhouse with views to downtown
- Relocate the maintenance facility to another part of the property making room for an additional 125 parking spaces
- New bag drop
- New 25,000-square-foot putting green
- Two new chipping greens
- Renovate original clubhouse

- Covered Outdoor Patio with views towards downtown (Seating for 150)
- Function/Banquet Room (Seating for 200)
- Proshop with office for golf professionals, club repair room, and storage
- Men’s & Women’s Locker Rooms
- 3 Conference/Multi-Purpose Rooms
