AIRPORT: PASSENGER TOTAL IN JULY RISES 18.5% IN TWO YEARS

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The number of passengers flying airlines out of Midland International Air & Space Port in July jumped to 72,703 – an increase of 18.5% compared to July 2023.
Airport officials reported another month over the previously unreachable number (70,000) with passengers flying Southwest Airlines, American Eagle, United or Delta out of Midland during the month of July. The total in July was 3.5% higher than July 2024.
The July total also raises the fiscal year total to 639,387, which is not only 3.87% higher than FY 2023 but basically guarantees a new yearly record will be set at Midland International Air & Space Port. Last year, an annual record of 740,219 was established. There are two months left in the fiscal year, and last year a total of 124,301 passengers flew out of Midland International in August and September.
Parking revenues also have increased. The City of Midland shows more than $851,236 in net parking revenues – an increase of 5.45 percent compared to July 2024. More than $7.44 million has been collected this fiscal year – a 8.65% increase compared to the first 10 months of fiscal year 2024.
