I-20 Project will reconfigure ramps serving West Loop 250:
A project to reconfigure Interstate 20 ramps that service West Loop 250 and rebuild frontage roads is scheduled to start later this month. The nearly year-long project will have several traffic pattern changes during the course of construction. The speed limit in the 1.4-mile area will be reduced to 55 miles per hour. Concrete traffic barriers will be in place in part of the work zone to help protect work crews. All lanes will be open for the majority of the project.
Traffic Signal Installation on FM 1788:
A project to install traffic signals on FM 1788 just north and south of Business Interstate 20 in Midland County will start later this month. Traffic signals will be put in at both Younger Road and County Road 127. Lanes will be kept open as much as possible, but delays and detours will happen at times. Both traffic signals will include arrows for left turn lanes. Work will be done simultaneously at both locations.
North Loop 250 Resurfacing:
A project to resurface about 3.2 miles of North Loop 250 between Garfield Street and Big Spring Avenue is scheduled to start later this month. The work will require single lane closures both day and night as well as temporary ramp closures at certain times. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 50 miles per hour and a width restriction of 11 feet will be in place. The project will be done in stages with repairs made this fall and the final surface being put down in the spring when the weather is warm enough to accommodate the materials that will be used.
