[ARCHIVED] Traffic alerts and lane closures

Asphalt Buckling Repairs on Lamesa Road:

City crews will begin to repair a section of buckled asphalt on Lamesa Road at Dormard Avenue. During this project, lane closures will be used on Lamesa Road.

Drainage Improvements on Navasota Drive:

City crews will begin making drainage improvements on Navasota Drive at: Llano Ct, Pedernales Dr., Sabine Dr. and Rio Grande Ave. These intersections will remain accessible to traffic throughout the project, but traffic may be restricted to one lane at times. Drivers are asked to be cautious while in the work zone areas.

Drainage Improvements on Camarie Avenue:

The City will continue making drainage improvements in the north alley of the 2300 block of Camarie Avenue. The alley will be closed the remainder of the project.

COMPASS Project on Terrell Street:

The contractor is currently working on Terrell Street from Gist Avenue to Longview Avenue. Terrell Street is now open to through traffic. Contractor may set up work day lane closures to be able to complete the remaining sidewalk, curb ramps, scupper and embankment.

COMPASS Project on Rhode Island Avenue and South N Street:

The contractor will be setting up barricades on Rhode Island Avenue from South Garfield Street to South L Street and on South N Street from West New Jersey Avenue to West Carter Avenue. In this area, the contractor has begun grading operations and access to businesses may be interrupted during the day.

Beal Parkway Paving Project:

The contractor is working within the newly proposed alignment of Beal Parkway from Audie Court to Blue Haven and Leisure Drive to Thomason Drive. Contractor may set up work day lane closures to be able to demolish and install the remaining sidewalk and curb ramps. Paving operations are scheduled to start soon after.

Briarwood Avenue Paving Project:

The contractor is currently working along Briarwood Avenue from Avalon Drive to Holiday Hill Road. The contractor moved traffic onto the new pavement. Temporary driveways are available to access affected businesses on the north side of Briarwood Avenue.

I-20 Bore Project at Midland Drive:

The contractor will be working at the intersection of the I-20 Frontage Road and Jasmine Drive as well as north I-20 Frontage Road directly across from this intersection. Access to Jasmine Drive may be restricted at times due to construction activity and may include brief, temporary full closures of the road.

Fairgrounds Road Widening Project:

The contractor working for TxDOT on the Fairgrounds Road Widening Project has completed the mainlane paving operations. The roadway is now open to two-way traffic from Loop 250 to the south end of the project. Traffic may encounter a lane closure as sidewalk construction continues. The signal installed at Wadley Avenue was activated on October 26 to all-way flashing mode. In a few weeks, the signal will be placed into full operation.

Utility Extension Program on Loop 250 Frontage Road:

The contractor will perform construction along the eastbound Loop 250 frontage road between Tremont Avenue and Henry Koontz Boulevard. There may be temporary lane, road, and intersection closures during construction.

Utility Extension Program on Illinois Avenue:

The contractor will perform work along Illinois Avenue between Andrews Highway and ‘M’ Street. There will be lane, intersection, and road closures during construction.

Midland Center Utility Work:

The contractor will perform work along Main Street between Ohio Avenue and Wall Street, and along Wall Street from Main Street to Loraine Street. There will be lane, intersection, and road closures during construction.
