The public is invited to participate in a five-minute survey, and to leave comments on an interactive web map to help the City of Midland and Midland County identify roadways that have safety issues. The information collected from these surveys will be key to developing the Vision Zero Action Plan that will serve as a guide for the coming years. Exciting News for the Permian Basin:

The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded grant funding for the City of Midland and The University of Texas Permian Basin towards the construction of the planned Wildcatter Bike Trail that will connect Midland and Odessa. Watch here.

Hogan Park Golf Course-Quail Run has earned the #22 spot in Texas for golfing under $60 by the Dallas Morning News. Congrats to our amazing team!

KMB and Diamond back

Diamondback Energy and Keep Midland Beautiful joined forces to plant 50 trees in our city parks today, contributing to 325 trees in over three years and plans for 100 more next year. A BIG thank you for helping us create greener parks.

Construction

Road Project Updates:

Idlewilde Dr. Storm Drain Improvements - The Contractor is excavating at the basin, and the franchise companies are adjusting at Sunshine Parkway and Idlewilde Dr.

N. Garfield St. Utilities -The Contractor continues placing storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main south of the Golf Course intersection.

N. Garfield St. Paving – In–house crews are preparing to place a new curb, gutter, and concrete pavement at the Garfield/Golf Course Road intersection.

W. Wadley Extension - The contractor continues installing the storm drain infrastructure.

Main St. Water Main - The contractor continues excavating, placing new water main and service connections north of Cuthbert Ave. Additional water main work on Kansas St heading West from Main St. has been added to this project.

Michigan Ave. Water Line - The Contractor continues excavating, placing new water main and service connections on Marienfeld St. between W. Louisiana and Michigan Ave. The Contractor continues the placement of the water main work on W. Hamby Ave. and the N. Big Spring St. intersection. The paving of Michigan Avenue is complete.

Join Midland Animal Services as we ring in the Christmas season! Mark your calendars for December 2nd, 10AM - 2PM. Midland Animal Shelter will be decked out from head to toe with decorations and cheer, we’ll have free adoptions and a number of awesome vendors from our community showcasing their awesome services. Come see Julia with Juju and Friends grooming as she shows off her awesome grooming and pet dying techniques, Mutty Paws Ranch pet boarding facility, Moody Dog's Bakery with the sweet treats and of course Chief Chuck and the Midland TX Fire Department! Tasha Sport Dog & Pet Photography with her oh so perfect backdrops and perfect pictures with Santa. Can’t wait to see you!!

Tis' the season! Our annual tree lighting ceremony is back with an exciting twist. For the first time, we're bringing you a Mistletoe Market filled with delightful shops and tasty treats. There will be live Christmas music and pictures with Santa. Lots of fun for the whole family to enjoy, so mark your calendars for November 28, 2023. Join us for a jolly good time!

Join us as the Lighted Christmas Parade tradition continues. The parade route will travel along "A" Street from Windlands Park to Midland High School. Capture the magic and create memories by snapping pictures with Santa at Wadley-Barron Park after the parade.

Volunteer to become a Rescue Runner with Midland Animal Services and the Midland Fire Department - Rescue Runners | Midland, TX - Official Website (midlandtexas.gov). Rescue Runners meets monthly on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays.

  • November 18th - Rescue Runners- 8AM -10AM - 1200 N Fairgrounds Rd. Throughout December we will be accepting donations of treats, toys and other other pet related items. These items will be given out to all December adoption families.
