  • Tattoos exhibited by personnel must be absent nudity, profanity, gang affiliation or depictions / writings deemed offensive. Tattoos shall be confined to areas of the body that allow for full concealment when the Class “A” uniform is worn. No neck, hand or face tattoos are permissible. Those employed with the Department prior to 08/01/2020 possessing a visible tattoo within one of the prohibited areas will be assessed individually to determine if concealment is required. Concealment options are identified as either a Band-Aid no larger than 1”x3” or skin-toned concealer. The Chief of Police maintains the right to deem a tattoo as inappropriate and unacceptable.

  • Yes. The Ride Out program is designed to give interested applicants a firsthand view of what police work is like in Midland, Texas. We recommend riding out on Friday or Saturday nights with an evening shift officer (4:00PM - 2:00AM or 5:00PM - 3:00AM) or night shift officer (9:00PM - 7:00AM.). The ride along must be scheduled by contacting the recruiting division with at least a week notice.
