MIDLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS RESPOND TO PAIR OF FIRES

January 8, 2024

The Midland Fire Department responded to a pair of fires on Saturday, January 6, 2024, and Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.

The first one took place around 9 p.m. Saturday around the intersection of County Roads 114 and 1202. It was there that an RV was fully involved and later determined to be a complete loss. There were no injuries, one person was displaced, and the Red Cross was notified. 

According to Fire Department officials, “popping noises were heard when they arrived,” but the reason for the noises could not be confirmed. Fire Department officials said the popping noises stopped within minutes.

A second fire happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday on County Road 38. Fire Department officials reported an unoccupied structure was fully involved when firefighters responded. It was a complete loss.
