Inaugural Veterans Day parade, cookout to take place Nov. 8

MIDLAND VETERANS PARTNERSHIP HOSTS COMMUNITY PARADE & COOKOUT HONORING VETERANS 

(Nov. 5, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The Midland Veterans Partnership (MVP), in partnership with the City of Midland, Television station KMID (ABC 2), and KICKS radio (FM 99.1), will host the inaugural Veterans Day Community Parade & Cookout on Saturday (Nov. 8m 2025), celebrating and honoring veterans with patriotic moments, resource booths and free food for attendees.

The event will begin with a parade starting at 2 p.m. and a cookout following from 4 to 7 p.m.

The parade route (Bowie Elementary to Midland High via “A” Street) will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The parade line-up will form as early as 10 a.m. on B Street and Elk Avenue. The parade begins at 2 p.m. with a fly-over. The cookout follows from 4 to 7 p.m. at Centennial Park, featuring food trucks on Colorado Avenue, a 40-foot Veterans RV, and a special patriotic program, including a crane-hoisted U.S. flag by TNT Crane and live trumpet performances of the national anthem and Taps by Gilbert Barela.

8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – parade route closed

2 p.m. – Parade begins at Bowie Fine Arts and proceeds down “A” Street toward Midland High

4 to 7 p.m. - Community Cookout at Centennial Park (free hot dogs, food trucks stationed along Colorado Ave.)

 

Road Closures:

Parade Route: 8 a.m to 4 p.m.

Centennial Park Area: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
