MPD: 18-YEAR-OLD INJURED AFTER SHOTS FIRED IN SW MIDLAND

(February 10, 2024)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Around 4:03 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, Midland Police Department officers responded to shots fired on a vehicle in southwest Midland. 

Officers were notified and met with the victim in the 4000 block of Cedar Spring Street. Midland police reported the victim stated he was driving in the 500 block of Devonian Drive when shots were fired from a residence. The 18-year-old sustained gunshot wounds to his feet -- injuries that were not live-threatening, according to MPD.

The investigators found security cameras footage from a nearby residence showing individuals running in the area carrying guns, and officers located multiple shell casing in a driveway on Devonian. MPD also reported a search warrant was obtained and executed for that residence and no subjects were located.

At this time, this is an ongoing investigation and no arrests have been made.
