City announces open enrollment period for boards, commissions

CITY: RESIDENTS CAN SUBMIT APPLICATIONS FOR BOARDS, COMMISSIONS DURING ENROLLMENT PERIOD

(May 30, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Open enrollment for the City of Midland boards, commissions and committees will begin on June 2, 2025, and run through July 11, 2025. The City Council will begin making appointments in September for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1, 2025, when most terms commence. Terms generally range from two to four years.

A complete list of boards, commissions and committees — along with meeting schedules and the application form — can be found and downloaded from the City of Midland’s website at www.midlandtexas.gov (select City Leadership, then click on Boards and Commissions).

The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. on July 11, 2025.

The following is a list of the boards/commissions/committees which currently have vacancies:

· Airport Planning & Development Board – 2 vacancies

· Animal Control Advisory Commission – 1 vacancy (veterinarian required)

· Citizens Development Hotel/Motel Advisory Board – 1 vacancy

· Midland Housing Authority Commission – 2 vacancies

· Midland-Odessa Urban Transit District Board – 1 vacancy

· Midland Spaceport Development Corporation – 1 Vacancy

· Oil & Gas Advisory Committee – 1 vacancy (petroleum engineer required)

· Zoning Board of Adjustment and Airport Zoning Board of Adjustment – 2 alternate vacancies
