Increased births in Midland provide more proof of a growing community

THERE IS A BABY BOOM HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN MIDLAND

(Aug. 19, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Births at Midland Memorial are on pace to top 3,000 for the first time since at least 2015, according to statistics from Midland Health. 

  • Through July, there have been 11.36% more births in 2025 (compared to the same period in 2024). Midland Health officials reported a 5.6% increase in births compared to 2023.
  • Even before this baby boom, Midland ISD topped 29,000 students for the first time in 2025. Student population growth levels are 1.9% compared to 2024, 10.99% compared to 2022 and 20.23% compared to 2015.
  • More babies mean more young kids, which mean future soccer/baseball/softball/football participants and users of city parks in Midland.
