Weed and Debris
Property owners must keep vegetation on private and adjacent public property below 18 inches and ensure debris is properly disposed of. Properties that remain in violation upon re-inspection will be added to the mowing list for abatement.
Disposal Options:

Junked Vehicles
A junked vehicle visible from the public right-of-way and is wrecked, dismantled (or partially dismantled), or inoperable and has remained inoperable for more than 30 days may be declared a public nuisance.
Prevent Violations by:
- Storing vehicles in a garage or screened from public view by a privacy fence
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and in operable conditions (inflated tires, no missing parts)
- Ensuring the registration certificate is not expired
- Ensuring the license plates are attached
Reporting Abandoned Vehicles
Abandoned vehicles parked on the street or on public property can be reported to the Midland Police Department (non-emergency: 432-685-7110) or reported via SeeClickFix.
Nuisance Water
It is always a violation to allow water to run down any street, gutter, alley, or drainage ditch.
Prevent Violations by:
- Monitor sprinklers and check streets for excessive runoff
- Inspecting irrigation systems, repairing broken water lines or sprinkler heads
- Adjust the direction of spray on sprinklers to avoid runoff
- Minimize the irrigation time
- Follow water restrictions when applicable
- Draining swimming pools onto streets or alleys is prohibited.

Trailers, Boats, and Recreational Vehicles
The City of Midland prohibits the parking of trailers, boats, recreation vehicles, and other motor/non-motor vehicles to be parked in front of residential properties. However, in a residence district no vehicle larger than one ton in rated capacity and exceeding 22 feet in length and no recreation vehicle shall be parked closer than five feet to the side lot line of the lot on which same is located. Side parking is only allowed on durable surfaces like concrete or asphalt.
Reporting Street Parking
When parked on the street all boats, motor homes, travel trailers, recreational vehicles, and trailers are under the jurisdiction of the Midland Police Department and can be submitted to the Midland Police Department (non-emergency number: 432-685-7110) or SeeClickFix.
