As of July 2021, all newly installed private fire hydrants shall include “marker rings” to indicate fire flow in GPMs. The City of Midland Fire Department will only accept 2 1/2" marker rings from Mark-A- Hydrant. GPM flow rates are color coordinated to be in compliance with NFPA 291.
Blue - 1500+ GPM
Green - 1000 - 1499 GPM
Orange - 500 - 999 GPM
Red - <500 GPM
