Space and Positioning
To keep the City of Midland logo clear and professional, it should not be printed smaller than 1.75" wide, unless approved for ads or small promotional items by the Strategic Communications Office. The logo must always keep its original proportions—no stretching, squishing, or adjusting individual dimensions, especially on templates like letterheads. If resizing is needed, use a corner handle to maintain the correct ratio. Never guess the size or try to fix a distorted logo manually. Always start with the original file, or request a new one from Strategic Communications if needed.
To ensure the City of Midland logo stands out and remains clear, always maintain a clean, uncluttered area around it. Avoid placing text, images, or background patterns too close to the logo. When positioning the logo near the edge of a page, leave at least 1/8 the height of the logo’s “skyline” as clear space from the edge to preserve its visual impact.
