The Support Services Bureau is responsible for the Airport Division, Training Division, Purchasing/Supply, Telephone Response Unit (T.R.U.), Records/Data Management, Evidence/Property Management, and Fleet/Technology.
Airport Division
This division is responsible for the preliminary investigation of calls for service, traffic law enforcement, accident investigation, general patrol duties, and other duties that are located in and/or around the Midland International Airport and Airpark Municipal Airport.
Property & Evidence
This department is tasked with property and evidence handling , control and processing all property and evidence that may come into their possession. They are responsible for all items of an evidentiary nature, lost/found, safekeeping, recovered property, contraband, or any other agency held property.
Records/Data Management
The department is tasked with maintaining an accurate and efficient means of storing, cataloging, and retrieving records of police activity. The department maintains records pertaining to the law enforcement activity of the Midland Police Department.
Purchasing/Supply
This department is responsible for storing, maintaining, and issuing all departmental supplies, clothing, and equipment.
Telephone Response Unit (T.R.U.)
This unit is tasked to serve as the MPD information center, oversee building security, process calls for service over the telephone and in person to relieve the workload on officers, and handles non-emergent phone calls and takes reports where a police response is not necessary.
Training Division
This division has the primary responsibility of assuring that all personnel receive adequate training in their job area. Functions within this Division include, The Midland Law Enforcement Academy, Field Training/Probationary Police Officer Programs, Firearms training, Physical Fitness training, In-service training, and Career Development Programs.
