MFD’s ‘TRUCK OR TREAT’ EVENT TO TAKE PLACE OCT. 11

(Oct. 1, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The Midland Fire Department (MFD) is excited to announce the upcoming "Truck or Treat" event, scheduled for October 11. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Central Fire Station, 1500 W. Wall St. Parking is available at the Parkhill building. This annual event invites families and children to enjoy a Halloween-themed carnival while receiving vital health and safety education.

Join the MFD for this festive occasion, where a person can participate in engaging activities and learn important skills, including:

· Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Get hands-on training in this lifesaving technique, empowering a person to potentially save a life in emergencies.

· Fire Safety Education: Learn how to prevent fires, what to do in case of a fire, and how to create a family fire escape plan.

· Car Wreck Simulation with Rescue using the Jaws of Life, scheduled for noon.

· Halloween Safety Tips: Discover essential safety practices to keep your little ghouls and goblins safe while trick-or-treating.

This year, MFD anticipates welcoming more than 8,000 attendees. With 36 local organizations hosting game booths and activities, there’s something for everyone. The event is free, ensuring that families from all backgrounds can participate and benefit from valuable health and safety information.

To make the event even more special, the City of Midland will close off eight street blocks, creating a safe and festive environment. Attendees can enjoy complimentary carnival games, face painting, candy, bottles of water, popcorn, cotton candy and cupcakes at the Cakewalk.

“The 'Truck or Treat' event is a fantastic way to engage the community in health and safety education while celebrating Halloween,” said Battalion Chief Aaron Cox. “We’re thrilled to provide a fun and safe environment for families to learn and enjoy together.”
