The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Division was approached by the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners asking what they could do in Midland’s parks to make an impact on the youth in the community. It was agreed that Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park could benefit greatly from their volunteers and resources that they were willing to dedicate to make improvements at the park.
On April 30th, approximately 50 volunteers will meet at Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park to do general clean-up and paint structures, trash cans and parking lot lines. In the future, the group will work to improve the actual baseball and soccer fields. The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Division is most appreciative of this partnership and looks forward to working with this group of dedicated volunteers who want to make a difference in their community.
