[ARCHIVED] Parks and Rec to Host Pitch, Hit and Run Competition

The City of Midland's Parks and Recreation Department will be kicking off the Midland RockHounds' upcoming season with Major League Baseball‘s Pitch, Hit, and Run skills competition.

Children between the ages of 7 and 14 are invited to the free event at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 at Security Bank Field (5514 Champions Drive). A special presentation of the movie “Sandlot” will begin at 8 p.m. at the Cimarex Energy Pavilion.

Pitch, Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14, and will have the chance to advance levels of competition all the way to the Team Championships at Major League ballparks.
