The Midland Police Department responded to a bomb tip received by Midland Crime Stoppers Friday morning. The Federal and County courthouses were evacuated as a precautionary measure, but no cause for concern has been found at this time.
Police responded to the tip regarding an unspecified courthouse in Midland at approximately 7:59 a.m. Friday. Due to the lack of information regarding which courthouse was involved, authorities checked all courthouses in Midland and did not find any initial cause for concern.
The Federal and County Courthouses have been evacuated as a precautionary measure and K-9 units are on their way to check on the building.
MPD takes all bomb threats seriously and is working with Midland County, U.S. Marshals and the FBI on this case.
