AIRPORT REPORTS SECOND LARGEST PASSENGER COUNT FOR A FEBRUARY

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The number of passengers flying an airline out of Midland International Air & Space Port was the second largest for the month of February.
The 52,217 passengers flying Southwest, United, American Eagle or Delta trailed only the record total in February 2024 (53,797 or a 2.94% decrease). Still, the number of passengers through five months this fiscal year (300,333) is 5.02% ahead of last year’s record pace.
The February 2025 total also shows the growth of the number of airline passengers over a longer period in Midland. The 52,217 passengers last month was 13.8% greater than February 2019 and 48.3% more than February 2015.
Southwest Airlines again carried the largest share of passengers, with around 45.3% of the total in February. United was second at 29.5%.
City officials also reported that parking revenue at Midland International Air & Space Port increased 9.39% in February (compared to February 2024). The $642,951 in net parking revenue increased the fiscal year-to-date total to $3.53 million, a 9.61% increase compared to the first five months of FY 2024.
