[ARCHIVED] Investigators searching for witnesses to pedestrian accident in parking lot

UPDATE (7/16): Investigators looking into the fatal accident that happened in the Midland Memorial Hospital parking lot Tuesday are asking three witnesses to step forward to help provide more information about what happened.

Police said three Hispanic females were able to help on scene during the accident, but left before officers were able to get their names. They drove away in a silver car. Investigators said the witnesses could have more information that could help in the case and are asked to call the Midland Police Department at 432-685-7108.

A Big Spring woman died from her injuries after being hit by a vehicle in the Midland Memorial Hospital parking lot on Tuesday.

Barbara Hall, 62, was walking northbound in the northwest parking lot of the hospital at approximately 11:49 a.m. when she was struck by a silver Ford F-150 that was driven by 73-year-old Jimmie Meador. The investigation into the accident revealed that Meador was traveling westbound in the parking lot at an unsafe speed and struck Hall with the front left portion of her vehicle.

Hall was transported inside the hospital with life-threatening injuries but did not survive. Next of kin has been notified and charges are pending. A possible medical episode is also being investigated as a factor in the accident.
