The Midland Police Department’s recruiting division is hitting the road to attract more applicants.
With a booming local economy, MPD is trying new avenues to stay competitive in the job market. MPD unveiled its second recruiting vehicle this week that doubles as a mobile billboard in an effort to fill the gap of needed officers.
The recruiting division invested approximately $1,000 in a vinyl car wrap with an eye-catching design to draw in interested individuals. The department is moving toward this method of advertising as it is more cost-efficient versus standard billboards, radio and television ads.
The department currently has 17 available positions for police officers.
