[ARCHIVED] Midland Health & Senior Services offers flu vaccine

Midland Health & Senior Services is recommending that all residents over 6 months of age receive their annual flu vaccine to prevent sickness, unnecessary healthcare visits, and even deaths from influenza this year.

Influenza spreads readily from person to person in schools, workplaces and homes. The flu vaccine provides protection against the four strains of influenza -- the H1N1 strain also known as swine flu and three other flu viruses that caused illnesses last season. Residents are urged to become vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available from their healthcare provider or pharmacy in order to be protected throughout flu season.

Midland Health & Senior Services is currently offering a flu vaccine for $35, and accepts both private insurance and Medicare. Please visit Health & Senior Services at 3303 W. Illinois Ave. in the Kingsway Mall or call 432-681-7613 for more information.
