Parents are invited to get their kids hooked on fishing at the City of Midland’s Fishing in the Park event on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Hosted by the City's Parks and Recreation Division, this free event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at C.J. Kelly Park (5500 League Dr., behind Lowe's).
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department requires all adult participants to have a State of Texas Fishing License, but children under the age of 17 are not required to have a fishing license. Prizes will be awarded in four age groups: 6 years old and under, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Participants must provide their own fishing poles.
