One Midland man was injured and another was arrested following a shooting at a convenience store early Tuesday morning.
Wesley Allison, 26, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Midland police were dispatched just before 1 a.m. to the Kent Kwik convenience store located at 1709 Rankin Hwy. in reference to a gunshot victim. When officers arrived they found a male with a bullet wound in his back. The victim was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation revealed that Allison and an acquaintance were involved in a physical altercation with another known male in the parking lot of the convenience store. Allison retrieved a small caliber firearm from his vehicle, fired at the male and then fled the scene. Allison was pulled over and eventually arrested and booked into the Midland County Detention Center shortly after he was seen driving erratically.
MPD is still searching for the third person involved in the incident. Any individuals with information are asked to call MPD at 432-685-7108. The investigation continues.
