The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $3,786,283.
This month's figure reflects a 7.76 percent decrease, or a $318,650 decrease, from August 2014.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2014-2015 is up 4.41 percent, or a $1,753,176 increase, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $41,466,726.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; August collection is based on June sales.###
