The Midland Police Department and the Midland Crime Victim Coalition will host a walk at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1 at Wadley Barron Park to spread awareness about domestic violence.
October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness month and the coalition is promoting the theme “Love Shouldn’t Hurt.” A survivor of domestic violence will share stories of her experiences after the walk. Officers from MPD’s Crime Prevention unit and several agencies from the coalition will also be on hand to offer pamphlets and information on how they can assist victims.
