Citizens have shared their dreams and aspirations for Midland’s future, and ideas inspired by their feedback will be presented by planners next week as they prepare to create a final version of the “Tall City Tomorrow” comprehensive plan.
Two informational meetings are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 13 at Abell Junior High School (3201 Heritage Blvd.), and at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the MLK Jr. Community Center (2300 Butternut Lane). Planners will be on hand to discuss final plan elements and action items that will be included in Tall City Tomorrow, a long-range plan that will set the course for Midland’s future development. The plan will incorporate past citizen comments from several workshops and address long-term issues such as land use, housing development, improvements to infrastructure, and recreational opportunities.
A draft plan will be presented to City Council in the coming months, followed by approval of a final plan.
