The mayors of Midland and Odessa will come together at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19 at the cities' Friendship Marker to lead a ceremony in appreciation for local law enforcement.
Mayors Jerry Morales of Midland and David Turner of Odessa will tie a blue ribbon around the marker, which is located a half mile east of Faudree Road in the median of Highway 191, as a show of support for law enforcement. In addition to Odessa law enforcement, representatives from the Midland Police Department, Midland County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Public Safety, Midland Independent School District Police, and Midland College will be in attendance. The Odessa Police Department will provide traffic control and cones will be placed in lanes on Hwy 191 as a safety precaution.
Midlanders and Odessans are encouraged to show their own support for law enforcement by wearing blue or placing a blue ribbon at their residence or business. ###
