The Midland Police Department will welcome several new officers during a swearing-in ceremony at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec.17 at the Martin Luther King Center (2300 Butternut Ln.).
Graduates will move on to the field training officer program as probationary police officers for 17 weeks. During this time, they are teamed up with experienced officers and are rated daily on their performance in the field as well as paperwork.
Sixteen new officers will be sworn in: Jorge Jimenez Acosta, Tim Arnold, David Balderas, Aaron Booker, Alex Duwel, Cody Easley, Brianna Finney, Carlos Gonzales, Brad Kozan, Jeff Pickett, Ryan Raines, Xavier Ramon, Brandon Ward, Maurice Wimberly, Derek Wolfe, and Eric Zamora.
