[ARCHIVED] Odessa man killed in industrial accident on Monday

A man from Odessa was declared deceased after he was involved in an industrial accident in Midland on Monday.

Eseciel Uballe, 58, was employed at Bison Trucking, where the incident occurred just before 11:15 a.m. along Highway 191 just west of FM 1788. A crane was offloading counter weights from Uballe's 18-wheeler when witnesses said it tipped away from the truck and fell on its side in the area where Uballe was standing. The crane struck equipment and materials below, pinning Uballe, who was found deceased on scene by first responders. No other injuries were reported.

The Midland Police Department suspects no foul play at this time. The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been contacted and will investigate the incident.

Next of kin has been notified and the investigation continues.
