[ARCHIVED] MPD lieutenant to retire after 30 years of service

The Midland Police Department will host a retirement party for Lt. Bobbie Jo Land at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29 in the third floor classroom of the City of Midland Police and Communication Center (601 N. Loraine St.).

Land has has been employed by MPD for 30 years and began her career as an officer in 1986. She was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1995 and became the first female in the department to be promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2009. Land has served in various units within MPD and currently oversees the Investigative Services Bureau. Lt. Land has also received numerous commendations during her time in law enforcement such as the 200 Club Officer of the Year Award and the Midland Rape Crisis Center Detective of the Year Award.

The public is welcome to congratulate Land on her accomplishments and retirement. Light refreshments and punch will be served.
