[ARCHIVED] Registration nearing end for USA Fit Midland training program

USA Fit Midland coaches will be on hand to answer questions about the program at an orientation session at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the MLK Jr. Community Center (2300 Butternut Lane).

USA Fit Midland is a 12-week program for individuals of all fitness levels to run or walk their way to a healthier lifestyle by preparing together for a 5K/10K race in April. Individuals who have never run a step before are especially encouraged to join to conquer mental and physical barriers they never thought possible.

Over the course of 12 weeks, USA Fit coaches help participants achieve personal bests in a non-intimidating, fun and safe environment. Members start small and work with coaches to build their mileage, fitness, and confidence until they reach their goal. Members follow their training schedules independently during the week, and convene on Saturday for their coached, long group runs and educational seminars. No matter what your condition or pace, others will be available to train with you.

Registration is available online at www.usafitmidland.com or in person at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center (2300 Butternut Lane); registration costs $60 for returning runners or City, County, Midland Memorial Hospital and Midland ISD employees and $70 for all other participants.

Orientation will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Online registration ends on Feb. 19 and in-person registration ends on Feb. 20. Group training sessions will take place at 8 a.m. Saturdays starting on Feb. 13.
