[ARCHIVED] Man in critical condition following pedestrian accident

The Midland Police Department is investigating a pedestrian accident that left a man in critical condition late Monday night.

Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident at approximately 11:27 p.m. at the intersection of Wadley Avenue and Midland Drive, where a man was found in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in critical condition and was later airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock.

The investigation revealed that the victim was crossing Wadley Avenue on the west side of the intersection when he was struck by a Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling eastbound on Wadley Avenue.
