One man was arrested in connection with a fatal accident that occurred Friday evening in Midland.
Joseph Lian Blk Thawng, 23, of Midland, remained in Midland County Detention Center Saturday on an intoxication manslaughter charge following a fatal motorcycle accident in the 400 block of North Midland Drive.
Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident at approximately 9:41 p.m. Friday and found 32-year-old Louie White, of Midland, deceased on scene. The investigation into the accident revealed that White was traveling northbound on Midland Drive on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when Lian Blk Thawng, who was driving southbound in a Dodge Charger, turned in front of the motorcycle.
White was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Lian Blk Thawng, who was found to be intoxicated, was not injured in the collision and was taken into custody. Three additional passengers in the Charger were also not injured. Next of kind has been notified.
