The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,569,612.
This month's figure reflects a 21.77 percent decrease, or a $715,213 decrease, from July 2015.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2015-2016 is down 19.59 percent, or a $7,379,752 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $30,300,691.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; July collection is based on May sales.###
