The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,514,867.
This month's figure reflects a 19.11 percent decrease, or a $594,148 decrease, from September 2015.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2015-2016 is down 19.39 percent, or a $8,643,717 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $35,932,024.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; September collection is based on July sales.
